Animated Knight
With this light project, I wanted to test out some capabilities with Spine Animation. This is more of a personal project than anything else, because I've always wanted to animate stuff like this, and am interested in looking into animating a lot more things. More animations will come soon!
I made the art in Photoshop. While they're a bit rough, it was enjoyable to make these.
The first animation I made was one of a walk cycle. It's mostly a light run, but my main reference is a child skipping.
The second one I made was one where the character attacks. I decided to add a bit of a quick delay to the attack, for a more powerful swing.
I thought that it would make sense for a knight to have a shield. Then, I figured it will be funnier if the shield appeared in thin air. It's a bit uncanny, but it's a bit more interesting and easier than just using the hand shield.
I found it funny to have an oven mitten that casts magic, so, I decided to make such a thing. I had to unfortunately resize the background, so, it's a bit more vertically rectangular.
Secret Death: It's a reference to Touhou Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, where Yukari is capable of launching a train into her opponent.
